A Journey Through Another World Wiki

The Forest of Gaia (ガヤの森 Gaya no Mori)? is the big forest that dominates the world of Etelldia.

Background[]

In the prologue to A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring, which in the manga and anime corresponds to the very beginning of Chapter 1 and Episode 1 respectively, Takumi Kayano is sent to this forest by Sylphyryll shortly after being revived and granted various special skills for survival. There he fights a red wolf, then in Ch. 3WN discovers a pair of abandoned twins (whom he names Alan and Elena), and fights other monsters along with the twins before reaching the town of Shireen in the nation of Guadia in Ch. 6WN / Ch. 2Manga / Ep. 1Anime.

It is said by the Second Captain Granvault Lowain during the final moments of Ch. 11WN / Ch. 3Manga / Ep. 1Anime that the Knights of Guadia regularly organize expeditions to the Forest of Gaia to wittle down the populations of monsters inhabiting there before they get too close to pose threats to not only Shireen but also other nearby towns and cities. One of such expeditions is launched in Ch. 22WN / Ch. 8Manga / Ep. 3Anime by Vice Captain Issac Risner, to which Takumi and the twins are invited by request of Vault in spite of their perceived lower rank (Takumi views himself as an F-rank adventurer while the other parties in the exhibition are A-rank knights).

Geography[]

The Forest of Gaia is located on the center-south region of Etelldia. An ocean lies south of the Forest. Five nations surround the Forest: Guadia to its east, Algo to its northeast, Gretia to its north, Elizabeth to its northwest, and Saint Shim to its west.[note 3]
