Issac Risner (アイザック・リスナー, Issac Risner)^? is a high-ranking knight in Etelldia, bearing the title of "Vice Captain of the Shireen Branch of the Knights of Guadia".

In the anime adaptation, he is voiced by Japanese voice actor and singer Shunichi Toki (土岐隼一, Toki Shun'ichi)^?. In the English dub, he is voiced by Kevin D. Thellwell.

Background

In Ch. 22^WN / Ch. 8^Manga / Ep. 3^Anime, at the discretion of Granvault Lowain, Takumi Kayano and his party join the expedition organized by the Knights of Guadia's Shireen Branch towards the Forest of Gaia. Issac greets Takumi, remarking that Vault "strong-armed" him into accepting his request to join the expedition. He initially feels shocked to see that two children, Alan and Elena, are also joining the expedition, deeming them "really young to be adventurers"; Vault reassures him that they are strong (after witnessing how they easily defeated a brawler back at the Adventurer's Guild in Ch. 10^WN / Ch. 3^Manga / Ep. 1^Anime), so he relents and lets them join the mission, although the kids still feel nervous to be around too many people, clutching themselves firmly against Taku.

Personality

Issac often lectures Vault on not carrying out actions merely based on his own instincts. We see this especially in Ch. 23^WN / Ch. 9^Manga / Ep. 3^Anime when Vault tries to quickly grab the slimy rock moss found by Alan and Elena without remembering about the severely-itchy side effects of directly touching it without protection.

Trivia

• Issac's lectures may last as much as one hour, according to one of his subordinates when asked by Takumi.
  • He just seems to do it for his own enjoyment or he forgets what he has already said. It is surprising that Vault doesn't punch him in the face to shut him up.
