Rhode is a baker who, along with his daughter Michelle, runs the Golden Bakery at the town of Shireen in Etelldia.
In the anime adaptation's original Japanese version, he is voiced by Yūji Kameyama (亀山雄慈)?.
Background[]
In Ch. 24WN / Ch. 4Manga / Ep. 2Anime, Rhode is asked by Takumi Kayano to prepare bread using two ingredients: jam and custard cream (the latter which he had never seen before). Takumi's request is to add those two ingredients to the bread dough before baking it. Confused by the odd request, Rhode does not consider it impossible but admits he had never attempted so before, to which Takumi responds that he will show them how to do it. After learning from him, Rhode and Michelle start to prepare these two new types of bread; Alan and Elena also join in in the preparation of the bread.
The resulting bread with custard cream, which is dubbed cream bread, proves to be a sensational delicacy, so Rhode makes it a brand-new menu item at the Golden Bakery and offers to pay Takumi a share of the profits, something Takumi generously declines before embarking on his next adventure along with Alan and Elena.
Appearance[]
Rhode has grey eyes and brown hair and mustache; a curved tuft of hair protrudes down to his eyebrows' height. He wears an off-white chef hat on his head. His bakery uniform, whose sleeves only reach down to half his armlength, is light hazelnut in color with brown borders around the folded neck collar and around a patch featuring at least six brown buttons. A red neckerchief hangs from his neck down to half his abdomen area. A white apron is wrapped around his waist.
