Sagesse Clantz (サジェス・クランツ)? is a knight from the Third Division of the Knights of Guadia's Shireen Branch.
In the anime adaptation, he is voiced by Japanese voice actor Takuma Nagatsuka (永塚拓馬)?.
Background[]
Before the White Wings start to board the caravan headed to a monster-hunting expedition into the Forest of Gaia in Ch. 8Manga / Ep. 3Anime, Takumi Kayano starts to feel like someone or something is glaring at him maliciously; Alan and Elena also seem to feel this glare. However, Takumi shrugs it off for now. At the end of Ep. 3Anime, someone's half-covered face with glaring eyes shows up, hidden behind a tree from others' view.
At the very end of Ch. 11Manga, during Ch. 30WN / Ep. 4Anime, after defeating an evil viper near the end of the expedition, Takumi draws his Water Katana and aims it at this someone with the half-covered face, leaving other expeditionaries at a gasp. This member is identified in Ch. 12Manga (still into Ch. 30WN / Ep. 4Anime) as Sagesse Clantz. Granvault Lowain asks Sagesse if he did something, to which he responds with a negative. But Takumi claims Sagesse was glaring at him with "murderous looks", something Rudolf also has noticed; Takumi reveals he had been feeling this glare all the time since the expedition departed from Shireen. Rudolf suggests the twins were hurt by the viper thanks to Takumi feeling infuriated by Sagesse's glare; Iris seems to second Rudolf on this. With this info, Vault confronts Sagesse, but Sagesse insists everything is a lie. It is later declared by Issac Risner that Sagesse Clantz loves Vault and that Sagesse may have felt jealousy when Takumi's skills caught Vault's attention. However, Vault insists he is only into girls when asked by Takumi about it.
In Ch. 35WN, it is revealed that, as punishment for his incident at the expedition, Sagesse is subjected to two weeks of house arrest and demoted to an apprentice level for three months.
